Henderson County Public Schools
The Henderson County Public School system continually ranks among the top ten NC school systems for elementary, middle, and high schools. The system is comprised of 13,500 students among 23 schools located throughout the county (13 elementary schools, 4 middle schools, 4 high schools, 1 education center, and 1 early college high school). Average class size in grades K-8 is 21 students. Through investments in high quality teachers, innovative teaching tools, and state of the art academic facilities students in the local schools system are afforded an opportunity to pursue scholastic excellence. The 2012-13 graduation rate was 88%, exceeding the state rate by 5.5%. Henderson County consistently out performs peer school systems. SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) performance during the 2013 academic year was an average of 1514 (16 points above the National average, 35 points above the State average).

In 2012, Made in Henderson County, a coordinated effort established to enhance the connection between industry and education was launched. The Partnership works closesly with the Career Tech Education department to faciliate this relationship. 

Fletcher Academy and Captain Gilmer
Located in Fletcher, North Carolina, both Fletcher Academy and Captain Gilmer provide a Seventh-Day Adventist education.

Heritage Hall International School
Located in Hendersonville, North Carolina, school serves students from Kindergarten through grade 12. Heritage Hall International School is a coed, independent private school.

Immaculata Catholic School
Located in downtown Hendersonville, NC Immaculata Catholic School offers Pre-K through grade 8 education.

Mountain Community School
Located in Hendersonville, NC, Mountain Community School is a charter school offering education Kindergarden through grade 8.

Veritas Christian Academy
Located in Fletcher, NC, school offers Pre-K through grade 12 education.
