Kyocera Precision Tools, Inc. Announces Hendersonville Headquarters

July 16, 2014

On July 16, 2014 Kyocera celebrated the creation of a new, wholly-owned subsidiary, Kyocera Precision Tools, Incorporated (KPTI). The creation of the new company follows a consolidation of Kyocera’s North American cutting tool operations in the indexable, micro-tool, and printed circuit board (PCB) cutting tool markets. The recently formed company will be headquartered in Hendersonville, NC. The Kyocera campus currently employs 187 persons in Henderson County, of which 75 employees are affiliated with the newly-formed KPTI.

According to KPTI President, Mr. Koichi Nosaka, “the new company creates a combined enterprise that optimizes the strengths from two Kyocera divisions including Kyocera Tycom Corporation (KTC) and Kyocera Industrial Ceramics. Combining resources from both of these units facilitates expansion of Kyocera’s overall cutting tool-related business in North America.” The combined entity will unify cutting tool resources to create greater efficiencies while positioning the organization for continued success and growth. Customers will benefit from a unified sales and support team offering improved customer service and an expanded portfolio of cutting tool products and solutions for the automotive, aerospace, general machining, medical, power generation, printed circuit board and steel markets.

At the grand opening celebration, Charlie Messer, Chairman of the Henderson County Board of Commissioners reflected on Kyocera’s unique operating philosophy, focused on thoughtful decision making and a drive to do the right thing. Chairman Messer emphasized the parallels of the company’s mission statement with the culture of the greater Henderson County community and welcomed the new company and President Koichi Nosaka.
