Next Generation Network (NGN): Regional Broadband Survey

June 19, 2018

How does internet service impact your business? The Land of Sky Regional Council is conducting a West Next Generation Network (NGN) Broadband survey for all residents and businesses of Buncombe, Haywood, Henderson, Madison and Transylvania Counties, to develop a better understanding of broadband coverage in the region. Results will be used to develop infrastructure deployment plans in partnership with the Education & Research Consortium of the Western Carolinas (ERC Broadband) and the NC Broadband Infrastructure Office, and to attract private investment and further develop public-private partnerships to better serve the broadband needs of the region.

You can take the survey on your smart phone or laptop following this link: WestNGN Internet Survey

West Next Generation Network (NGN) Broadband is a regional initiative focused on stimulating the deployment of broadband networks in Western North Carolina. WestNGN’s goal is to encourage private sector providers to deliver ultra-fast bandwidth at highly affordable prices to ensure our region remains competitive and at the forefront of developing the next-generation applications essential to all sectors of the economy. WestNGN is focused on bringing on high-speed gigabit, middle-mile and last-mile fiber, offering a multi-pronged approach that is necessary to bridge the digital divide common to our rural areas and ensure continued economic development opportunities.
