NCGA Regulatory Reform Hearing coming to Hendersonville

April 12, 2011

The NC General Assembly’s Joint Select Committee on Regulatory Reform will be in Hendersonville on Friday, April 15th for their listening tour.  The committee is composed of nine senators and nine representatives including Representative Chuck McGrady.  They are holding hearings to learn more about state regulations that are viewed as ineffective or burdensome.

You can share your comments and opinions by attending the hearing, submitting an email to [email protected], or by entering your comments through this form on the NCGA website.  The hearing will be held at Blue Ridge Community College’s Thomas Auditorium from 1:00 to 3:00 pm on Friday, April 15th.  If you would like to make comment at the hearing you will need to sign up to speak by 12:30 pm.

As HCPED stays in close contact with the business community, we constantly look to identify regulatory concerns that are trending.  One item that we have heard from small business, large business, existing industry and prospective clients is that North Carolina’s corporate tax rate is not competitive amongst our peers.  If you know of other issues, whether they are broad or specific to your business, please consider attending the hearing.
