Over 100 members, manufacturers, and elected officials joined us on May 14th for the annual Forum. Taking the stage was Jennifer Pharr Davis. Davis, a native of Henderson County, shared how her time breaking hiking records on the Appalachian Trail can be applied to business. Davis shared that she feels fortunate that her hometown of Henderson County truly feels like home. She continued to tout that Henderson County is a great place to live, work, and play.
Some of her key points included:
-Getting lost is not a mistake
– Vision and direction come before hard work
– Find a mentor
– Communicate clearly
– The trail doesn’t care about what you want
– Be part of your journey
– Be beautiful, be wild, be responsible
– You don’t have to be the best, you have to find your best
– Ask yourself: “How far can I go today?”
– Just because a chapter ends in your life, doesn’t mean it goes away. It stays with you.
Thank you for all those who attended!
