Jabil, one of the world’s largest healthcare manufacturing solutions providers, announced today that it plans to expand its operations in Henderson County. The company plans to invest over $102,000,000 and create over 148 jobs annually with average wages exceeding $62,000. The new 180,000-square-foot facility will be located at the company’s existing site at the Garrison Industrial Park in East Flat Rock.
Jabil’s Henderson County facility manufactures precision injection molded components that are subsequently assembled via high-speed automated assembly lines and shipped to customers in the healthcare industry.
“The Partnership celebrates Jabil as they continue to flourish and expand,” said John Bryant, chair of the board for the Partnership. “And we are especially proud of this announcement as it marks the largest investment total in a single year for Henderson County! It’s a great way to kick off the start of the Partnership’s 20th year.”
The Garrison Industrial Park was previously purchased in 2020 as part of a historic, three-party agreement between Henderson County, City of Hendersonville and the Economic Investment Fund of Henderson County (an affiliate of the Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development), to help protect land for industrial development and job creation. Jabil was the anchor tenant in the park, and the company’s expansion is a testament of the forward-thinking investment made years ago.
“Henderson County is proud to support advanced manufacturing employers like Jabil that continue to invest in our community and provide high-quality career opportunities for our residents,” said Bill Lapsley, Chair of the Henderson County Board of Commissioners. “This longstanding partnership reflects the proactive collaboration between our economic development team and elected leaders, helping create an environment where businesses can grow and succeed.”
City of Hendersonville’s Mayor, Barbara Volk, said, “Jabil’s continued presence and investment in our region highlights the value of strong public-private partnerships. We are excited to see their ongoing impact in the city and the opportunities it creates for our local economy and families.”
Headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida, Jabil is a global engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing solutions provider with more than 140,000 employees in over 25 countries. For 60 years, the company has served the world’s leading brands across a range of industries, including data center infrastructure, healthcare, robotics, automotive and transportation, and energy.
“The Henderson County facility reflects our continued investment in advanced manufacturing capabilities, automation, and quality systems that enable us to deliver at scale for our customers,” said Mike Mahaz, Jabil’s Senior Vice President of Global Business Units, Healthcare. “We value the strong collaboration with the local community and remain focused on driving operational excellence and long-term value for the world’s leading healthcare brands.”
